Thank you for being part of the 2026 Juneteenth Parade. Please read the following
instructions below to ensure we have a safe parade experience for all.
- Line-Up – Everyone should report to the First Cathedral Church (1151 Blue Hills Avenue, Bloomfield) by 9:00am for line-up space instructions. A volunteer will be at each entrance to check you in.
- No vehicles – will be permitted in the staging location unless they are part of the parade.
- Step-off – The parade steps off promptly at 11:00 AM.
- Parade Route –The Parade Route will start at the First Cathedral Church (1151 Blue Hills Avenue) and travel southbound on Blue Hills Avenue, right on Rockwell Avenue and ending behind the Blue Hills Fire Department (1021 Blue Hills Avenue) parking lot, where free refreshments will be served.
- You are required to follow the group in front of you so that the parade moves smoothly and continuously. There will be volunteers in “Juneteenth T-Shirts” placed throughout the parade route to ensure your group is moving.
- Dressing Area – There are NO dressing areas available at the line-up area.
- Bathrooms – Facilities will be available for use at the line-up area inside First Cathedral Church and at the end of the parade inside Blue Hills Fire Department or outside portlets.
- First Aid – First Aid will be available from the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance.
- Emergencies During Parade Route – All units should move to the right in case of an emergency.
- Candy/Souvenir Throwing – Handing out candy and other souvenirs are encouraged, however, to ensure safety of the parade spectators, throwing of candy or souvenirs from parade vehicles is prohibited. Distributing candy and any other materials to the crowd is permitted by walkers only. Please ensure that your parade entry is sufficiently staffed if you intend to distribute candy or other materials.
- Reviewing Stand (2) – The reviewing stands will be in front of Fresh Farms Market
(Sav-Mor Plaza) and in Front of The Blue Hills Fire Department. - Parade Distance – The parade distance is approximately 1.8 miles.
- Parade Assistant Day of Event – If you have any questions before the event, call 860-310-2840. On Parade Day, call Donna at 860-874-2106.
Juneteenth Community Craft Festival
Saturday, June 20, 2026 – 1pm – 5pm

Note: Due to the overwhelming response of this event, all vendors will be allowed only (1) 10×10 space.
Please bring your own tent, table, chairs and electricity.
Food Vendors (if you’re selling any type of food) a temporary food permit is required, here’s the link: https://www.westhartfordct.gov/town-departments/health-district/online-forms the health department will be on site to check.
